Kellen at 18 months

It's so hard to believe my little guy is 18 months old! He's growing up entirely too fast. He turned 18 months old on February 18, but he had his well visit this past Friday. I'm so amazed by Kellen and how far he has come since birth. Never would anyone think that this sweet little guy weighed only 2 lbs at birth and could literally fit in the palm of my hand!


Stats: 23lbs 6oz 31in. His pediatrician is very pleased with how well he's growing, and he's following the curve nicely on his growth charts.


Daily happenings: Hmmm.. lets see. He's walking, running, climbing and hiding. Sounds about right to me for an 18 month old, right? He's into everything. He loves "reading" books and playing with anything that makes noise. He's already getting into cars and trucks, just like his big brother. Of course you know this has caused a few problems with Connor. :)

Eating: Kellen has a very hearty appetite. He eats more than Connor most days, and he will try anything you give him. His favorites right now are applesauce, graham crackers, vanilla pudding, pancakes, eggs, sausage, cheese, yogurt, dry cereal, oatmeal, grits, toast, any kind of chicken, lean beef, and most recently banana bread. He could seriously eat a whole loaf. He only drinks water and milk and doesn't really care for juice. I offered him some apple juice one day to try and change things up a bit but he would not drink it and pretty much refused to even look at his cup until I filled it with water. Can't argue with that though! His pediatrician did say at this age he only needs 16oz of milk each day. I'll see how that goes because this little guy LOVES his milk.

Sleeping: Kellen is the best sleeper, and I'm so blessed that I have 2 kids that sleep well. Bedtime during the week is by 8:30 and he's up around 6:30 the next morning. On the weekends he sleeps in until around 8:30 or 9:00. He's down to only one nap most days, but sometimes he'll take 2 depending on how the day is going.
